We are delighted to announced that we are supporting FareShare Greater Manchester (GM) as our Charity of the Year 2022/23.
Over the next 12 months we will be hosting a series of internal fundraising events to raise vital funds to help tackle the food poverty issue in Greater Manchester.
We have set ourselves a target of £1,000 which, in real terms, would provide 4800 meals to vulnerable people across Manchester or fund a School Breakfast club to ensure that school children are starting their day ready to learn.
FareShare GM is Manchester’s #1 food redistribution charity, redistributing surplus food, which would otherwise go to waste, to charities, schools and community groups who turn it into meals for vulnerable people.
Food poverty continues to increase across the UK and Greater Manchester is no different with an estimated 620,000 people struggling to access food on a daily basis. Last year, FareShare GM provided over 3 million meals, supporting many thousands of people. In 2022, FareShare GM wants to reach a target of 7 million meals to deliver food to people in Greater Manchester that would otherwise go without.
