We are proud to support The Christie as our Charity of the Year 2023/24.
Over the next 12 months we will be taking part in a series of events to raise vital funds that will be directed to The Christie HPB Research Fund who are conducting life-changing clinical research.
Our staff have voted to support this particular fund in memory of our co-worker and much loved friend Richard Evans.
Hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) tumours are rare and can be particularly difficult to detect early. They are also often particularly difficult to treat. Some HPB cancer patients often don’t have the option of standard cancer treatments, meaning their only treatment option is a clinical trial. Clinical trials can offer new hope through different treatments that aim to improve patients’ lives and survival.
The Christie is the largest single site cancer centre in Europe treating more than 60,000 patients a year and the first UK centre to be accredited as a comprehensive cancer centre.
Based in Manchester, The Christie serves a population of 3.2 million people across Greater Manchester and Cheshire while more than a quarter of patients are referred from across the UK.
